Where to go for the best waterparks in America

If you’re looking to make the most of your summer holidays in the US this year, there are a few things which simply you must do. However, with a queue at all of the local sites and a crowd around all of the local UNESCO sites, visitors to the US will want to take part in a great American pastime which will help them cool off. If you’re looking for a list of the top places to hit the best water parks in the USA, you’ve come to the right place.

Florida

The Sunshine State has its memorable nickname for a reason – this hot state in the east of America is known for its warm summers and relaxed way of life, as well as its impressive selection of Disney theme parks. Of these, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Blizzard Beach Water Park can both be found in the sunny city of Orlando. Incidentally, these two water parks are rated the top 2 in the whole of the US – if you’re standing there at the airport with your ESTA all taken care of, looking forward to the summer sun, these parks the places you should be dreaming of.

Indiana

If you’re in Indiana this summer, be sure to head by Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari. While the name may not be the most memorable, the experience certainly is. This water park in the town of Santa Claus is not only great fun to take the kids to, it actually won a Travellers’ Choice Award in 2015. There are themed holiday events throughout the year, with roller coasters and water rides open to help take the heat out of Indiana’s summer months.

Virginia

Williamsburg, VA, is home to Water Country USA, a massive water park where you can release your inner child, no matter your age. This impressive water park also holds a Traveller’s Choice Award for 2015, making it well worth the trip if you’re in the area. With state-of-the-art water rides for you to enjoy, Virginia’s Water Country offers everything from the adrenaline pumping Colossal Curl to the more relaxed lazy river where you can just lay back and take the load off.

Texas

This state in the south of the USA is unsurprisingly up there when it comes to impressive water park experiences. NRH2O is ranked the 6th best water park in the country, with 17 acres’ worth of land holding a huge slew of water rides for the whole family. This incredible water park is also home to several different areas for the different age groups in your family, with a dedicated ‘tween area’ where you can drop the kids, but it’s also home to the world’s largest uphill water coaster. As soon as you’ve dropped the kids off make sure you head on over and check out the water coaster for yourself – just remember: walk, don’t run!

Washington

While Washington State may not seem like the most obvious place for a water park, Slidewaters in Chelan is ranked the 7th best water park in the entire country. This amusement park on the side of Lake Chelan is a great little water park (and the smallest on this list), which means that it doesn’t attract the same crowds that the Florida parks do. During the day you can relax on the lazy river and during the evenings you can move into the hot tub – whatever the weather, Slidewaters is the park for you if you spend your summer in the north east of the USA.
