Are you considering choosing Dubai for next year’s holiday destination? Well, we don’t blame you. Asides from the city offering amazing sightseeing attractions, dozens of malls and beautiful beaches, (there are plenty of other reasons why you’ll love Dubai, read them here) 2016 has got some spectacular events lined up.
The Dubai Jazz Festival
The Dubai Jazz Festival is sponsored by Emirates Airlines, who has already listed the dates for 2016’s event. From 25th to 27th January, this festival, which attracts thousands of music lovers every year, is being held at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre.
Whilst the festival features both mainstream and progressive jazz for the fanatics, there are also a few popular, contemporary acts thrown in for good measure. So, if you’re not a jazz devotee, you can still appreciate the music and ambience at this enthralling festival, which combines music with fun and art all under one roof! What do we mean? Well, that’s for you to find out; we’d hate to give too much away and spoil it for you.
However, we’ll let you in on one thing: last year, the top jazz acts were James Blunt, John Legend and Sting and 2016’s line up is bound to have big names too. Buy your tickets now to avoid disappointment.

This shopping extravaganza is the largest of its kind in the Middle East and it’s one of the main reasons why so many people plan to visit the city during the year’s first quarter. Dubai Shopping Festival runs from January to February every year, with 2016’s fiesta kicking off on 1st January and leaving you wanting more on 1st February. We know what you’re thinking, what better way to spend New Year’s Day than shopping? It’s the perfect hangover cure, right? The renowned festival is a paradise for anyone who yearns to shop in style. For many shopaholics, who travel from all over the world to attend the most excitedly anticipated event in the calendar, this event is heaven. And with the festival taking place in January, it gives people the opportunity to spend their Christmas money on an abundance of designer goodies. Dubai Shopping Festival is home to the most luxurious brands in the fashion industry including Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Armani and Hermes. You’ll have to go on a shopping spree here yourself to find out what other treasures this retail celebration has to offer.
